Audience Lenses
Real readers vary in background knowledge, vocabulary, attention span, culture, language proficiency, and accessibility needs. Design for this range deliberately. Build content that welcomes second-language readers, supports neurodiversity, and anticipates misinterpretations. Reflect the audience’s goals, not yours, by foregrounding actions, decisions, and consequences. Validate assumptions with short pilots, then revise. When you write with specific readers in mind, your words stop floating abstractly and begin assisting real choices in real moments.
